great day out .... well don on the video... thank you to a.w.o.l for bringing the RTI ramp out nice to see some of the rigs and meet most of the drivers and familys
you need to sign on with Louisiana 4x4 in baton rouge we have the most fun ,go to best places and the most fun than anybody and also have the best leadership of any club. WE WILL BE GLAD TO HAVE YOY
Anyone know the angle on A.W.O.L.'s ramp? Been playing with the numbers and I'm thinking its not a standard 20 degree ramp, more like 25 to 30. Either that, or I have a problem with my suspension.
Michael, I was wondering the same thing b/c I just new I would of done much better. If you find out before someone post will you let me know?
I want to say Kenny mentioned being closer to 30. LA4X4 was the one he kept referring to as the standard RTI-20degrees Sent from my iBrick
it is not standard angle. more fun to go higher so it is not as steep as other ramps. The formula for scoring works the same no matter what the ramp angle (so i was told)
Yes and no. If you mean finding a score as a number, yes. Take the distance up the ramp (to hub center at 90 deg with the ramp surface) divided by the wheelbase and multiply by 1000. That's your score. If you score 600 on a 20 degree ramp (assuming 94.5" wheelbase), then you went 19.39" vertically. However on a 30 degree ramp, the same 600 score means 28.35" vertical. In other words, a 600 on a 20 degree ramp is the same as a 410 on a 30 degree ramp. A stock JK 2DR on 32s (inc. Rubicon) with sway-bars disco'd should hit about 720 on a 20 degree ramp. When I estimated mine, I got a distance of about 57.6". There's a margin of error there, since its based on relative measurements from the picture, but its within 10%. I was expecting low to mid 800s, but got 609 when I did the math. If their ramp is 30deg, then that could explain it. 609 @ 30 deg is the same as 890 @ 20 deg, or about 28.75" vertical. I'm guessing its more around 25 to 28 degrees. Only real way to know is to measure it (all three sides). DOH! Didn't think to cheat by airing down the LF tire and RR tire...maybe next time.
I believe they have Delta's old one. Remember seeing something on here a year or so ago, plus it came up in a conversation with Coupe the other day. It was supposed to be there, but they didn't have anyone to send with it and Woody wasn't keen on babysitting it during the event with everything else he had to do.
