There is a hidden thread with all the information. We was keeping it hidden so it didn't fill up with inappropriate or unnecessary post. You guys should have access to it already. I will have to check to verify though.

See if you can find it... look in the thread tool bar at the top. At the far right is a little arrow. Click the arrow and you should see a MOAB 2013 thread if you have access.

I still don't see the hidden thread...

Larry, I think that was the official count for the first organizational meeting last week. I think that we ended up with 8-10 rigs there.

Yes that is about the rough estimate. The only issue is some are thinking about doing other things (i.e. grand canyon) so the number may be less. I would still post up the details. This may be the only way some may go, and I believe everyone should make it to MOAB at least once.

Assuming the price worked out, that would be the perverbial bomb. Even if they just went to Grand Junction or Albuquerque (i.e. all interstate). A 3-6 hour roll into Moab would beat a 24 hour drive.

From Albuquerque you could go north to Moab and Telluride or west to the GC. With the best scenery of the trip (i.e skip west Tejas)

Well I suggest get them as close as we can within reason. I love my rig and it's fun on the trails but I wouldn't want it as my sole transportation for hours on the highway.

What kinda sucks is we are planning on running the whole trip in the JK. It's a little more comfortable than the old TJ, but the whole trip is going to be based around the "Jeep Experience".

Though.... having it shipped is really tempting.

Ed, are you gonna pull a trailer or anything? That is a small space to fit all the crap for an almost 2 week trip! Maybe a small lightweight trailer would help? I dont have one to offer, but the cheap lightweight expanded metal floor 4wheeler/ lawnmower trailers can be had rather cheap (5-600$) and would sure add some extra room for the family!
I am trying to figure out storage ideas for my truck, trailer and jeep now. I am going to add some space to store stuff in the trailer under the jeep and some more storage behind the drivers seat of the jeep. Considered a rack of some type on the jeep, but the down low ones get in the way and the up high ones dont hold much and add weight up high.

So you are driving the whole way? I'm gonna make a prediction; by the time you get home you are gonna be so sore, laying in bed will feel like torture.

Not pulling anything here. So far it is just the wife and I. My daughter is still up in the air about her going with us (our decision). I may just pickup a hitch rack for the extra space, and leave it at the room during the trail rides.

Angel and I have driven a 14+ hour drive, one way, in my TJ a few years ago. It was a long trip, but not as bad as I thought. Even though 24+ hours is rough, as long as we break it down into two days, and stretch at each stop we will be good. I thought about pulling a small trailer, but storing it somewhere was the problem.
