    I'll second James' recommendation. A good tourniquet is a must have. Smelling salts are useful as well as bee-sting swabs and a variety of band-aids.

    One thing that I feel should ALWAYS be in a first aid kit ever since we went through their proper use in a training class for work is a mechanical tourniquet or a CAT tourniquet....

    I just have a small kit that fits in the glove box,,just gauze,band aids,burn ointment,alcohol and iodine wipes Reading through this just reminded me that my fire extinguisher is expired and I need to get a new one

    I kind of prefer that to water, water will flush very well, but I have found that the peroxide will lift out solids where water will not.

    i dont have anything to flush out a wound, i guess i assume that someone will have an ice chest close enough to get a water bottle, but that is not always a safe assumption. where we wheel, if something happened, the wound would definitely be at...
